Unfuckingreal. I'm so pissed.
Went to the modelling gig I was offered for today. Just be there for this presentation to learning photographers from 9 am to 4 pm. Sucks balls, but I was offered $200. Kids, let this be a lesson to ask for money UPFRONT.
First off, it was incredibly fucking boring and I had to stop nearly falling asleep.
Second, the good thing was I met some photographers who might be interested in doing projects together, potentially more paid gigs. That's good.
Then we get to the end of the program. I'm treated as a lackey to hand out business cards and whatever the fuck. I'm irritated, but do it because it's moments before I get to leave. I get up to go and the photographer asks if I can stay behind and "do some pictures". I've been having my picture taken all fucking day and I've made it abundantly clear that I'm not staying so...no. Please pay me so I can go. He then asks me for my address and I said, "I don't think so." He tells me that the sponsors made a cheque out payable to the model who was supposed to show up for the gig so they have to mail the cheque to me. I scoff, roll my eyes, and say, "So you guys can fuck me over?" He tells me I have to have some trust in them. I tried not to raise my voice in front of the photographers he just lectured to since, hey, maybe not everyone needs to know how fucking unprofessional he is. He tells me if the cheque doesn't arrive by Wednesday, hey, I can at the very least contact the local rep (this guy is from Montreal). I begrudgingly leave my address because I was on the verge of punching the guy in the face and kneeing him in the sack. When I left, I texted him saying, "You are so unprofessional! You waste my entire day and then don't pay me in cash for my time - unacceptable."
Do any models take cheques?!?!? It seems like a fucking cash only business unless you're a supermodel. So goddamn rude and unprofessional.
