Skimming back through my DW/LJ reveals that I haven't talked about what's going on in my personal life since ... erm, April. So, a brief rundown of what's been going on in my life:

Offline:... but I got my latest bloodwork results back, and as of today I am officially (easing off) my diet! I still need to be careful not to overdo it on the refined sugars/carbs, especially since 'tis the season for sanctioned gluttony, but this makes the prospect of two months away from home (and easy control of what I eat) much less stressful ( Read more... )

It has now been so long since I went to New York that it’s only the same amount of time again that I’ll be back in New York, but damnit, I wrote this trip write-up and so you’re gonna get it whether you like it or not. Well, not that you actually have to read it or anything.

On food.Made crepes w/ soy flour and coconut juice this morning. The first one I forgot to add sweetener and didn't add enough juice, so it was kind of thick and tasteless; the second one I tweaked a bit and it turned out better, though the soy aftertaste was a bit irritating. So I meant to go to the Co-Op today to buy mouthwash and flouride and sundry necessities; instead, I went antique window-shopping (well, shelf-shopping since I went inside) and bought postcards. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. On a warmer day I might have stayed out longer and run the errands as well, but my feet were going numb even in my thick leather ( Read more... )

Went in this morning for what I thought was a basic blood pressure test and then having blood drawn for sampling -- just a half hour appointment and then go. Then I found out on the spot that I was signed up for another test which would take another hour and involved getting injected with cortisol and getting more blood taken at the end. One of my doctors put me on a new medication because the side effect is drowsiness, and as much as I like getting enough sleep for once, I think it's making my headaches worse.
