Tonight, some friends from work and I will be uncorking our creativity. We are going to spend the evening at Corks N Canvas. None of us can draw or paint but we like to drink so we are giving it a whirl. I'll post the result of my foray into the art world later this weekend. We'll see if it looks anything like this...

There's always so much to see, hear, eat and absorb at Jazz Fest but we always take time out to check out the art at some point in the day. I stayed up late last night and finally finished As Above, So Below: A Novel of Peter Bruegel by Rudy Rucker.

I highly recommend this book. It is the fictional imagining of the life of Peter Bruegel. The author combined the few known facts about Bruegel's life with the history and the culture of the Netherlands in the 1500s to craft a realistic ( Read more... )

I am currently reading As Above, So Below. Apparently, not a lot is known about the life of Peter Bruegel but the author, Rudy Rucker, did a lot of research to create a fictional account of the places and events that inspired the artist.
