The creepy little blood metre is spurting on my Tour de Cure page - you've all help me raise $1010$1050 (my aunts contributed as I was typing) for my ride tomorrow. :) I'm off to actually plot out the route home from Gloucester.

I'm riding on Sunday, and I'm at 75% of my fundraising goal. If 25 people donate $10, I'll make it! If you can only throw in $5, that helps too. More, of course, is appreciated. :) I have to fill out my envelope tomorrow before taking the train up to Rockport, so if you were thinking about donating, you should do it as soon as possible.

Stop'n'Shop has been selling Clif and Luna bars for $1/each lately, so I've been carrying them on my training rides. The 40 mile ride I did out to Natick and back took about 4 hours in the saddle, and I ate 4 bars (I try to force myself to eat one an hour, I usually end up nibbling at one over the course of 15 mins, my stomach is not 100% happy ( Read more... )

Training for the Tour de Cure ride on June 8th, I've biked 40 miles on both the last two Saturdays.

Got on my bike for the first time in 10 days this morning, and had a nice quiet ride in to work (Patriots/Marathon Day is a holiday for some). At one point, for one city block, there were more bikes than cars on the road, it was sweet. The bike rack was gone from August 6th through today, over three months. I saw them lifting it up to move it in place, I have to double check that they used the holes that are far enough from the fence to allow us to actually use it. There's also been rumblings about an awning to keep the weather off the bikes. *crosses fingers ( Read more... )

Just talked to Ace, they can't do the insurance estimate because I had Paramount try and true the wheels. I *told* them that I'd done that already, they still accepted it yesterday. *kicks things* I have to go pick it up tonight before 8pm, but at least I don't have to pay the $35 for the estimate.
