WHEW!  Canadian Tire called me at work today to inform me that there was no engine damage that they could find for now.  Thanks the stars!   The car had overheated due to there not being much coolant left which explains why the oil wasn't the main culprit.    Bleh, I used to take better care of my car when I drove it more often, but since moving ( Read more... )

Today (err...Sunday afternoon) my car overheated. Was driving along the 401 to pickup sarcasm_hime and sandwichboy from the Anime North wrap-up meeting at the Doubletree hotel, and got stuck in traffic for 20 minutes. On Tuesday I got the emissions test done for my car and it passed.  Yesterday, I got the license plate renewal stickers.  Yay!  All done and it was easy this time.

Next up is to book an appointment at the eye doctor for replacement eyeglasses.

My license plate stickers were up for renewal by November 30 so I naturally waited til past the last minute.   I decided to get things done today and took my car to Hell¹ for this year's requisite emissions test, but they were booked solid so made an appointment for tomorrow; traffic was horrible and had to drive all the way back home -- my fault ( Read more... )

Progress on the car is being made.  Finally took it to Hell (Canadian Tire) yesterday to get the flat tire examined to see if it could be patched.  It couldn't, must have been a gash in the tire.   Had Canadian Tire replace the flat with a new one, check all the other tires (the rest were fine, apparently, not balding), rotate and balance.   The ( Read more... )
