Music Station 28 August 2015: V6 & Arashi

Aug 30, 2015 18:53

It's been a crazy week (and I thought the previous 2 weeks were bad?). I'm kinda behind on translating Risk no Kamisama but... It's Arashi and V6. Together. I CAN'T EVEN STOP MYSELF. Also, V6's 20th anniversary tour starts tonight!!! I really wanted to go... But... Tickets cost a bomb (resale, obv) and so many fanclub members didn't even hit either. And in the first place, I couldn't get leave from work so it would have been impossible anyway. Sigh. I'd long given up on ever going for an Arashi concert but I never expected V6's concert to be so hard to attend as well. Double sigh. Anyway.

Conveniently, of all the pairs of people with overlapping member colours, usually only one spoke (Inocchi but not Aiba, Ohchan and not Masa, Sho but not Go) so I could safely use each member's colour. EXCEPT Nagano/Matsujun and Okada/Nino. But Nagano and Nino only spoke a few lines anyway so... Heh.

MINISUTE
Hironaka: Today, we have V6, who celebrate their 20th anniversary this year!
V6: Hello, thanks for having us!
Hironaka: And we have Arashi!
Arashi: Thanks for having us!
Hironaka: Thank you for coming. Your two groups share a senpai-kouhai (TN: senior-junior) relationship.
Inocchi: We do.
Hironaka: Have you guys done anything together in your private time lately?
Inocchi: Ah! I recently went out drinking with Matsumoto-kun.
Hironaka: The two of you?
Matsujun: We did.
Inocchi: Just the two of us, right?
Matsujun: Yes. Just the two of us! He's been my senpai for a really long time.
Hironaka: What did you two talk about?
Inocchi: Well, Arashi used to be V6's back dancers a really long time ago, so we talked a lot about the past. But what really surprised me...
Matsujun: Yes.
Inocchi: Was that he can really hold his liquor!
Matsujun: We had so much to talk about! So much!
Inocchi: And because I'm his senpai, I wanted to be all stylish and pick up the tab. But after I'd paid, he kept on ordering even more!
Sho: After you'd paid?
Inocchi: After I'd paid!
Matsujun: I'm sorry, I was all hyped up.
Inocchi: Hyped up?
Matsujun: Yeah, I was all hyped.
Hironaka: I see.
Inocchi: That's what our outing was like.
Matsujun: Thank you.

Hironaka: Okada-san, what about you and any of the Arashi members?
Okada: For me, I'm from the same batch as Ohno, you know.
Ohno: We are.
Okada: So, for his solo exhibition... Right, Ohchan?
Ohno: Yes, you came for it, didn't you?
Hironaka: You went for his exhibition?
Ohno: Right, Okachan?
Okada: Since when did you call me Okachan?
Ohno: Well, even though we're from the same batch, he debuted before me. Calling him "Okada" is still hard for me, even now.
Okada: So what do you call me?
Ohno: I call him Okadacchi... Tentatively.
Inocchi: Neither here nor there...
Okada: Hello there, nice to meet you! I'm Okadacchi!
Ohno: That's how it is between us.

Hironaka: I'm sure you guys have lots more to share. We'll hear more from you during the main segment. Music Station will begin shortly after this, and V6 will be presenting a special 20th anniversary medley, while Arashi will be performing their latest song for the first time on television! All this, coming soon!
Inocchi: How cute!
Hironaka: Please, look forward to it!

V6 TALK (with Sho joining in)
Hironaka: Next up, we have V6!
V6: Thank you for having us!
Narrator: This year, V6 celebrates their 20th anniversary since their debut. Tonight, they will present a special medley of songs including their latest song, as well as their debut song, "MUSIC FOR THE PEOPLE" which was a bit hit composed by Akimoto Yasushi, and another hit song "TAKE ME HIGHER." These men have, to date, appeared on M-Sute 119 times. Looking back on the footage from past episodes... One cannot help but notice the presence of a certain member, who is doing his very best to do something... That is... The boy who makes his move in the last 2 seconds before the end of the broadcast! Miyake Ken! During the ending sequence 19 years ago, like a bolt from the blue, he disappeared from the screen to do something... That is... To plant a kiss on Tamori-san's cheek!!! Perhaps he was just trying to stand out, but we know not the real reason behind his actions. But every time he came... And so, this curious two-shot in the final 2 seconds before the end of the broadcast, became a customary corner that people looked forward to. It continued for 8 years, for all of 56 episodes. In some sense, it became a legend. Since he's here, Miyake-san, could we get you to recreate that two-shot that has been set aside for so long tonight?
Tamori: Did we do it that many times?
Ken: Amazing, huh? It's practically a production in itself.
Tamori: It really is.
Ken: We really did it a lot.
Nagano: Tamori-san, you just let him do whatever he wanted to you, didn't you?
Tamori: Yeah, yeah.
Inocchi: You didn't even look as displeased as one would expect.
Tamori: It actually felt good, surprisingly. His lips are so soft...
Inocchi: Did you guys plan it out beforehand?
Tamori: Not at all.
Ken: But I went to your dressing room.
Tamori: Ah! You did.
Ken: I borrowed your sunglasses.
Inocchi: There was one with you wearing sunglasses, wasn't there?
Ken: I borrowed Tamori-san's sunglasses, and at the end, the two of us were wearing matching sunglasses, something like that.
Tamori: We did, we did that!
Inocchi: Just thinking about it normally... Is there anyone who would do something like that in Arashi?
Nino: I don't think so.
Inocchi: He's really unique, isn't he? This Miyake Ken, truly.
Sho: I mean, just now, too, when everyone was watching the VTR, Ken-kun was all, "there's Sakurai, there's Sakurai!" He could have just looked at himself, but he was actually looking at me dancing in the back.
Inocchi: He was looking for you among the backdancers.
Ken: I couldn't help but look. But it's really nostalgic!
Tamori: It is! We really did do that, definitely.
Ken: And we did talk about it before hand.
Tamori: We did.
Ken: Like, "what shall we do today?"
Tamori: Yeah.
Inocchi: And you did that 56 times!
Hironaka: Arashi, were any of you guys aware of this final-2-second two-shot thing?
Sho: Back when we were backdancers, once the song was over we would start getting ready to go home. So just now, the shock was actually for real...
Inocchi: Yeah, I guess because you had to go home by train.
Arashi: Yeah, yeah.
Inocchi: They had to leave earlier so as soon as the song was over they'd go straight home. When we got back to the dressing room everyone would be gone. That's what it was like.
Tamori: When did we stop doing that again?
Ken: I wonder when?
Inocchi: Was there a specific reason why you stopped?
Ken: I can't really remember.
Tamori: I don't think there was a specific reason.
Ken: Yeah.
Tamori: We didn't say something like, "let's stop doing it."
Ken: Yeah, we didn't.
Inocchi: One theory has it that it just so happened that one day we were appearing on the same episode as SMAP, so he was too scared to do it.
Ken: Was I too scared?
Tamori: What was it, exactly?
Inocchi: He must have been too scared, after all.
Ken: I might have been too scared to do it in front of our paisen (TN: senpai/seniors)
Inocchi: You couldn't do it in front of our paisen.
Tamori: We never even got to talk things out before we parted.
Ken: We didn't. It happened before we knew it.
Inocchi: It came to an end organically.
Tamori: Or maybe you just grew up?
Ken: Maybe.
Inocchi: He became more mature.

Tamori: 20 years, huh?
Inocchi: That's right.
Tamori: Did you guys ever fight?
Inocchi: We did. Well, I mean, there's a 10 year age difference between our oldest and youngest members, so they didn't fight much. But Okada and Ken are close in age, so...
Okada: I'm a year younger than him, so when we were younger and staying in the boarding house together, I'd often borrow his underwear and get scolded for it.
Tamori: You borrowed his underwear?
Ken: He'd borrow my underwear.
Inocchi: Okada doesn't own many pairs of underwear, you see.
Okada: I'd just come from Osaka and didn't have any money, so...
Tamori: You had no underwear because you'd just come from Osaka? That's just weird!
Ken: He only brought a dryer, and just like that...
Okada: It was decided that I was going to debut.
Inocchi: He thought he was just coming over to play, but was told he was going to debut. He only had one pair of underwear on him.
Hironaka: I know you all have lots more to say, but V6's special 20th anniversary medley is coming right after this!

Hironaka: Tonight, they'll be presenting a special 20th anniversary medley in front of 400 fans. Let's move along. Please listen to them. If you please.

ARASHI TALK
Hironaka: Well, up next we have the members of Arashi to sing for us.
Arashi: Thank you for having us.
Narratow: Arashi's new song is a wedding song that's been a talking point ever since it was used for a commercial. To date, they've sung many songs about the love between man and woman, such as "One Love" and "Love so sweet," but this time, their new song is about the bride's male friends' feelings of congratulations on her wedding. This much-talked-about new wedding song will be revealed on television for the first time in just a moment!
Tamori: Arashi, have you guys attended a wedding before?
Matsujun: I have. I attended a friend's wedding, and as part of the programme, a few friends and I formed a 5-man ensemble and performed "One Love" and "Happiness."
Tamori: You sang?
Sho: How did the audience react, seeing the real person live?
Matsujun: It was amazing.
Sho: Wow.
Hironaka: It must have been exciting for everyone.
Sho: It must have.
Tamori: That's nice!
Matsujin: Well, if you've any offers for me, please...
Sho: Would you really go?
Nino: Would you really? They'd be thankful if you did.
Sho: That'd be amazing.
Tamori: Anyone else been to a wedding?
Sho: Lately, I've been to a lot of them... Maybe because of my age, but this year it's been practically one a month. There's really one every month.
Tamori: How old are you?
Sho: I'm 33, but I'm in the 34-year-old batch. (TN: because Sho is born in January, and the Japanese school term starts in April, he's actually lumped with the April-Dec babies of the year above him [born in 1981, who would thus be 34 this year], as well as the other Jan-Mar babies of his year, 1982.)
Tamori: Ah, that's exactly the time when people get married, huh?
Sho: I guess so.
Tamori: One a month?
Sho: Yeah, and they ask me to do various things, too. Like, to emcee at the wedding, or to give a speech... The other day, well, 2 months ago, I was asked to give a speech as the representative of the groom's friends. I said I'd be okay with that, but why not give the bride a surprise with a piano performance instead. So, the two of us were arguing like, "then you play," "no, you play." I was really super nervous to be playing the piano for the bride, and I looked back, wondering if the bride was crying, but what I saw instead was the groom, who had ordered me to play the piano - he was crying like crazy, and the bride hadn't shed a tear!
Tamori: Lately it's been the men who cry more, huh?
Sho: That certainly was the case, this time.
Tamori: The woman... The bride tends to be the steady one, looking her normal self...
Sho: The picture of composure, right?
Tamori: But the groom would be the one crying buckets.
Sho: Exactly.
Tamori: But you played the piano...
Sho: Well, but I was so nervous, I couldn't even eat or drink any sake. I don't want to do it again.
Hironaka: Arashi will be unveiling their new song for the first time in just a moment!

Hironaka: Let's move along. Arashi presents their wedding song, "Ai wo Sakebe" on television for the first time. If you please.

Okay, back to Risk no Kamisama now. Hopefully I'll get ep 6 translated by tonight so I can at least start translating ep 7 tomorrow ^^;
