OVERJOYED. COULD NOT HELP BUT TRANSLATE THIS WHILE AT WORK OMG SPAZZING CANT STOP SMILING.
The TBS variety show "Gakkou e Ikou!", which ran between 1997 and 2011 and featured the popular group V6 will return for the first time in 7 years - just for one night! Titled "Gakkou e Ikou! 2015", the special program will run for 3 hours and be broadcast this fall. This was announced on the 8th of September at V6's 20th anniversary concert during their MC segment.
The variety show, with the theme of "let's enjoy school!", featured the members of V6 going to various schools and engaging in various projects. This was the birth place of various popular corners, such as "B-RAP High School," where they would cover songs and dances of popular singers. After the show ended, there were many calls for its return, and along with V6's 20th anniversary this November, those calls have finally been answered.
The famous corner "Assertions of the Adolescents" (Miseinen no Shuchou), where students would shout out the feelings hidden deep in their hearts from the school rooftop, will also be revived.
Applications will open on the special program webpage for the schools which V6 will visit. In addition, there will be a compilation of famous scenes which drew the greatest laughs at the time, as well as a talk segment with just the members of V6.
Inohara Yoshihiko (39), who had dreamed of reviving the show with the other members, said with a smile, "The children we met back then may have already become teachers. I'm excited for the new encounters we will have. Okada Junichi (34) said expectantly, "although we don't know yet what will be featured in the new show, I hope all 6 of us can go out on location happily while reminiscing the past."
Other regulars on the show, such as Minomonta (71) and Watanabe Marina (44), will also make an appearance, making for an enjoyable "class reunion."
Comments from V6:
Sakamoto Masayuki
When I heard about this, I was honestly surprised, yet overjoyed. I believe that compared to the original run of "Gakkou e Ikou!", we'd definitely be able to add a little spice this time in the way we carry ourselves and how we interact with the students. Although I don't know how it'll actually turn out, I'm looking forward to it, and I think it'd be great if we can draw out the goodness and fun of being a student as the V6 of today interacts with the students.
Nagano Hiroshi
We'd always been talking about how it'd be great if this program could be revived, so I'm really happy that it's actually happening at this juncture. It started 17 years ago, and continued for about 11 years. It's been 7 years since then, and the 6 of us have matured well since then, so I think our interactions with the students we meet will be different, and the thoughts and feelings of the students then and now will probably be different as well. I'm looking forward to meeting the students with the other members, and I'm looking forward to see what kind of schools we'll be going to.
Inohara Yoshihiko
When I heard about this, I thought it'd be great if we had continued the show. I believe that it's precisely because we've been V6 for 20 years, that we've been allowed to do this show again. I think it's great that both we and the staff want to do this show again. Over the past 7 years, the children we saw then may have already become teachers, and the teachers back then will have many junior teachers beneath them as well. I'm excited for the new encounters we will have, and would like to put our teamwork to work to make a whole new show.
Morita Go
All along, the members of V6 have been talking about wanting to do this show again. I'm really happy that in celebration of our 20th anniversary, the 6 members of V6 can do this show together once again. It's been 7 years, and the interactions between the members have changed, and I think our interactions with the students would also be different. I believe we'll be able to show off a brand new "Gakkou e Ikou!".
Miyake Ken
I was overjoyed when I heard that "Gakkou e Ikou!" would be revived for a night at this point in time as V6 celebrates our 20th anniversary. "Gakkou e Ikou!" formed V6's foundation for the variety show genre, and we learned a lot from it. Given our age, I'm looking forward to seeing how we'll feel about the freshness given off by the students of today, and to being able to experience entirely different feelings compared to back then.
Okada Junichi
I'm happy that on our 20th anniversary, we'll be able to work on the show we'd all been hoping for once again. I believe that "Gakkou e Ikou!" was the program that made V6 what it is today, so although we don't know yet what will be featured in the new show, I hope all 6 of us can go out on location happily while reminiscing the past.

If you don't speak Japanese, simple Japanese or English probably wouldn't hurt ^^ Perhaps something like V6旅行 (V6 trip), V6対日本一女子高生 (V6 vs Japan's No 1 Schoolgirls), またレギュラー番組にしてください (please make this a regular show again)? Also, I'd be happy to help translate short phrases or terms, but no essays please ^^;
