End of an era

I'm leaving for the airport soon. ^_^ Edan is giving me a ride, bless him.

Diana said that she'll be in VA when I am (around the 14th), so I figured we could get together then. She lives in Leesburg. I never did get her a thank you because the only thing I could really come up with is some wine. The problem with that is that I know diddly about wine. I know she doesn't like Chardonnay, and does like red wine. Now that I've looked up Chardonnay, it makes sense that she doesn't like it, considering it's a white wine. Well. Anyway, I was hoping that I could find something in the States, with some advice from someone who knows what they're talking about.

As for thank yous for Benvolio's family: Pete has to use a converter for his computer when he's here (which he is almost all of the time), which seems a bit ridiculous to me. So, I'm leaving him my Australian plug-head-thingy. (He has an Apple.) I also got him Arabian Nights because he mentioned at one point that he wanted to read it, but hadn't been able to find a decent translation. I ended up finding a new copy, but it uses the original English translation. Well, the first English translation of the French translation of the Arabic. Whatever. Either way, I'd like to send some sort of thank you for the family as well. I know their address (and have it written down if for some reason I forget) so I could send something to them. They're (other than Sam) in Denver at the moment, but having something waiting for them when they get home might be nice. I keep thinking about Prof. Xargle. Maybe I can come up with something better though.

Well, for something that was meant to be a short note to say I'm leaving soon, this is quite impressive. Predictably, after 9 weeks I have even more stuff than I came with. However, I've managed to stuff it all into the same amount of space! I'm a magician, I am! But I'm so not preening. Not at all.

Ok, maybe just a little bit.

I'm feeling a bit melancholy about leaving. ~_~ That's not exactly helped by the song that just came on, but I was feeling that way before. Not in a bad way, just... premptive nostalgia, I guess. This really has been a good time for me, and I'm going to miss the people. A lot. ::sniffle:: I think I need a hug. Ah well, life goes on.

To St. Louis, HO!

::looks around house and sighs softly::

nostalgia, friends, odd, internship
