Home again, home again, jiggity jig
I arrived yesterday morning after a long time on planes and in airports, but no worse for wear. This is just a quick note to say that that, and that I will be trying to load a few of the short video clips that I took over the next few days. They are not the best quality because they were just from my little camera, but I thought that some people might enjoy them. I have the fights (although perhaps not all of the first one) and the first 2/3 of the dance, plus a few other bits. I say when I have them up and where they are.
Sydney was fantastic! I spent eight of nine weeks very busy, and by the time the nineth rolled around, I was pretty beat, but I still managed to do some fun stuff. I didn't do some of the classic touristy things (Opera House, Harbour Bridge, the zoo), but I plan to my next trip down. I ended up doing stuff like the National Maritime Museum and NSW Art Museum instead. I loved it.
The theatre that the production was in was at the Bondi Pavillion, so I spent a good 4 weeks where I spent all day down by the beach. Granted it was storming for about 2.5 of those, but it was still gorgous!
I was talking to a fellow on the plane ride from Sydney to San Francisco who had been to Vietnam and Cambodia two years ago and really enjoyed himself just taking daytrips with his mates, seeing the country rather than just poking around the major cities. Between that and one of my brother's friends talking about Singapore, I'm really looking forward to visiting Asia now.
Having enjoyed Australia (or more accurately Sydney) so much, I am eager to continue travelling. Probably not this summer, but I very much want to go back to Australia and visit friends of course, but also to explore more of the continent. So many of my mates at school are Asian studies majors that I am now plotting to try to get a trip through places like Japan, Singapore, Cambodia, South Korea, Vietnam, Laos... This is starting to sound like either a 6 month trip, or a little over ambitious. Ah well, I can dream.
Since I'm Stateside again my phone works, so I can be reached that way! YAAAAAAAY! ^_^
