I guess everyone reads LJ on Monday mornings.  Time for a quick update here.

• Easy drive home from work in Long Beach on Friday, a miracle. 
  
• Today I will be good and take Metro Rail. 
• Midnight "bad movie festival", I saw  "The Apple".  Not quite bad enough to keep me awake.
  
• and I was the only one not wearing a sweater, I think it was 45 degrees out.

Weird day yesterday. I tried to write a piece about my new Journal title, but it got a little out of hand. I pulled out some words about the new slogan that's on my Friends' page, "Acausal Collisions and Near Misses". I really don't like the phrase that much, it is a place-holder. I do kind of think of myself as out of the mainstream, but in promoting my Yahoo group, for instance, I use some of the techniques of modern advertising.  I don't know if that promotes myself, or what, or if there is cross-promotion.  Anyway, the name BurlyintheBay is kind of a brand, but one that sells nothing.
