Someone is having a really loud party or something nearby for the second night in a row. I'm not close enough to identify the songs they're blasting, but I've been hearing a continuous bass beat for hours. I don't think this is quite the place to have a rave.
Hi-res stills from Disney's Tangled.
And it looks like it's official:
Michael Fassbender will play Magneto opposite James McAvoy's Professor Xavier in X-Men: First Class. It's like they're begging fandom to write more Erik/Charles fic.
The other day, Bradley Whitford was on Tavis Smiley and Bradley started talking about his favorite show of all time, The Wire, and Wendell Pierce (who now stars in Treme). Bradley has known Wendell since they attended Julliard together! Wendell is apparently a mutual friend of Tavis' as well because they've been working on a
documentary special called Been in the Storm Too Long focusing on residents in New Orleans five years after Hurricane Katrina which will air on July 21st on PBS. How did I not know about this
Treme news blog before?
Even though I'm watching Doctor Who on U.S. time nowadays, I can't help but read everyone's finale posts. :-D Anyway, BBC America aired "Vincent and the Doctor" on Saturday, and my mom and I agreed that Amy Pond looked absolutely radiant amongst the sunflowers. ♥
I forgot to mention that a few weeks ago, I added a new show to my schedule:
Unnatural History! It's a live-action show on the Cartoon Network, and it's kinda ridiculous but totally adorable. It's sort of like a high school cross between National Treasure, Indiana Jones and a non-magical Harry Potter.
Monday at Wimbledon is going to be decisive for several of the main contenders. Serena-Sharapova, Clijsters-Henin, Djokovic-Hewitt. Should be interesting!
Nice effort, USA. Though their World Cup journey is over, it's been a good run, and I'm proud of them. That second goal by Ghana was fabulous, though. My brother's so funny. One of his friends is in Vegas this weekend, so he called her this morning asking her to place a bet on Ghana for him because he had a feeling they would win. I'm sad South Korea lost, too. :-( We'll all be up early to watch England-Germany then Mexico-Argentina! Am contemplating making biscuits between matches. And I better get to sleep now if I'm going to be at all coherent.
