Not very surprised that Germany beat England.
The psychic octopus predicted it, after all. ;-) And poor Mexico. I'm going to miss their awesome fans. I also wish Germany didn't have to play Argentina already. I like both teams and would have preferred for them to meet later on. Still, there were some really beautiful goals in both games.
How could I have forgotten that James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender have already shared a project? They were both in Band of Brothers, which marathoned on Spike TV again on Sunday!
Oh wow, I have to see

here director Mark Landsman talks about the film, and here's the synopsis: THUNDER SOUL tells the true story of Conrad O Johnson and the legendary Kashmere Stage Band. It was afros and pleated shirts; James Brown and Bootsy Collins. It was the ’70s, and an inner-city Houston high school was about to make history. Charismatic band leader, Conrad “Prof” Johnson would turn the school’s mediocre jazz band into a legendary funk powerhouse. Now, 35 years later, his students prepare to pay tribute to the man who changed their lives, the 92-year-old Prof. Some haven’t played their horns in decades, still they dust off their instruments determined to retake the stage to show Prof and the world that they’ve still got it.
Here's how they sounded in high school, and
here's how they sounded on Saturday night! If you search for the Kashmere Stage Band on YouTube, there are some more funkalicious tunes posted there, too.
