I'm catching up on things I ought to have done. One of these things is to throw a party celebrating the fact that my apartment is unpacked and tidy and ready for living in. But you know, this thing comes up, and that thing needs to be dealt with, and soon it's almost a year since I moved in.

So later this morning, pphaneuf will stop by my place and pick up Timin. They'll be travelling to Waterloo, where Timin will be reunited with Julie. I think she's looking forward to that. Meanwhile, Timin is still oblivious.

I finished running the phone cable today. All the rooms have telephone outlets now and all of my telephones are plugged in.

Power has been run to every room except for the dining room. It seems that we forgot to cut a length of cable for this section. I think I'll just wait until I go down to Toronto to pick some up. No point in buying a two ( Read more... )

My parents are coming up this weekend and by the time they leave on Monday, my place is going to be perfect.

If I believed otherwise, I'd go insane.

However, since I believe it is so, I must already be insane.

It's the transition that's the scary part.

I've shelved boxes and boxes upon books, until I have finally discovered the floor again. It's nice, hardwood in fact.

There are a couple of boxes of Julie's books that I've collected into a pile, and with any luck I can tuck them away under a bed in the near future. Aside from that, I'm mostly moved in now. The only things left to do are ( Read more... )

It's vaguely pleasant to wake up in the morning before the alarm clock. The sun comes in through the window, plays through the spider plant, and makes a nice pattern above my head. I feel very accomplished and handy.

When some people move into a new place, they do interior decorating. They paint the walls and hang up pictures and hang new curtains. When I move into a new place, I renovate.

I woke up bright and early on Saturday morning to finish up my packing. Into boxes went the contents of my room. Then I began to disassemble and tie up the furniture, since that had to move as well. Meanwhile, Mom and Dad took a shipment of boxes over to the new place, which I have yet to name.
