Huzzah.  i really need to watch more of Chuck.  It sort of helps me decide what to wear on the 2nd day ... I think Inara is going out again.

I have to applaud the organisers of the 2010 Can't Stop The Serenity.  The venue was the right size and it was so much fun to watch Dr Horrible as well as Serenity.  I even won a door prize :D

 I'm officially a slacker, cos I didn't get the waistband done on the skirt (not yet removed the last row of gathering threads either).

The jacquard fabric I bought  to dye for this top was a poly-cotton, and silly me thought it was a blended fibre woven into jacquard.  Not so much.

While dying I discovered that one side was poly the other cotton, so the fabric turned out to be not the muted version of red, but red with off-white on one side, and off-white with red on the other.

Last night I pinned the 22 strips together - I'm going to make a long strip, gather it and sew it down, joining it where needed, and I'll stagger the starting points and thus the joins.
