So apparently Doctor Who is going to be doing actual cast-and-crew on-location filming in Utah next month.  I think I feel a road-trip coming on.

(Well, no, we wouldn't drive.  It's a clear two days of solid driving just to get to Utah.  But mid-November shouldn't be too expensive for flights.  It would all depend on when and where.  And it's still cheaper than going trans-Atlantic.)

But I started thinking... they've already done an episode set in Utah.  Dalek was set near Salt Lake City.  Not that Utah doesn't have some outstanding natural scenery, and Dalek took place entirely underground, but still...  California (as represented by Vancouver), New York, and Utah.  Twice.  Not somewhere like South Carolina, or Texas, or Oregon, or, y'know, the Great Plains...

Tell me, British friends.  You are well aware of the massive gaps us Yanks have about the British Isles.  What is generally "known" about the States on your side of the Pond?  What are the things that are romanticized or fantasized about that we may be oblivious to?

Also, it seems that the episode is set "in the late '60s" and will involve "the Oval Office."  So what?  We're gonna have Nixon involved in the Whoniverse?  Who on earth are they gonna get to do that?

So yes.  Gonna be scouring the Internet for some where/when information.  'Cause seeing them here and filming would be fabulous.

My parents and I are working on singing a couple songs for the relatives this week.  We had an interesting time working out "When I Survey" with one verse being in minor.  I was having the worst time figuring out one of the chords, and suddenly Dad found it, and I'm like, "Dang.  I should've remembered that in a minor key, the VI chord is major."  But hey.  It's been a few years.  (Oh, I am such a music geek.)

Am shining up my boots.  And my brown leather clogs.  The conditioner worked wonders.

awesomeness, family, squee, clothes, music, people are weird, yay, doctor who
