Can anyone tell me why a woman's Star Trek costume would be both harder to find and more expensive than a comparable men's costume?  I mean, besides the obvious "girls aren't geeks" thing...

I eventually found a TNG costume for $40.  I would've preferred one in "command" red, but they were out, and so I went with blue.  Yellow would have been cool for being an engineer or part of security, but yellow looks kind of awful on me.  At least it lets you choose the number of pips for the collar, so I can be a commander.

...I am such a geek.

The weather is teasing us.  It was sunny for about an hour this morning, and then it cleared up again right before sunset, and was cloudy the entire time between.  Argh.

Amy is going slightly insane.  Her general manager quit yesterday, in an angry and not-unprovoked gesture towards the overmanagement inflicted on the store by the home office.  But since they were already down a supervisor, it is now up to four people to do the work of six, with none of them being trained for many of the duties required of the general manager.  So when I go onto Facebook and see said former general manager talk about how it was the right thing to do and what a relief it is, I find it very very hard not to post something about how this defiant gesture has just made life that much more difficult for someone close to me.

Am listening to a Bach concerto.  It is good for the soul.
