Just saw the latest Sarah Jane Adventures. And once they started talking about seeing the future, I could guess that we would get a glimpse of David Tennant. So imagine my surprise when we got to see Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker. Actual Classic Who clips! With sound!!
The minute I recognized that we'd just seen a bit of "The Time Warrior", I was in such a state of squee, that the rest of the flashback was pretty much lost on me. Though it did manage to get through that another clip was from "Planet of the Spiders." That lightning is a bit distinctive.
And what a great story! I'd just been telling Amy that I hoped they'd have an episode where the alien is good and they do some helping. And here we have it, the classic "stranded and damaged" plot! And Eve was so sweet! And Sam and that older guy get to travel the universe! And Eve and Sam go on to have a half-alien kid! Man, SJA seems bound determined to wash away all the horrible despair and darkness in Children of Earth. With things like happiness and hope and friendship and things actually working out. I love it. We so needed it.
Also, we had sun today. I really hope it lasts this time.
