I lost both of my Great Danes 15 days apart. I know i am overdue in writing Talis' .... well. Obituary, i guess, but i haven't been dealing with it very well. So. My car is paid off entirely next month. MK is pretty thrilled about this, since his car was paid off last year sometime. After April, this leaves us with just the heating/ac unit to take care of and then our only debt is our house. Today MK and i went 'out and about' just because we wanted to. We had no errands to run, we had nothing we had to pick up, we had nowhere we had to be - we just hopped in the car and drove on down to FWB and wandered. Dropped Talis off at the vet at 8am for his surgery today.

Left the vet's office bawling like a baby. Crawled back in bed for a few hours, dozed a bit after soaking my pillow.

I am terrified that that's the last time I'll see him.

*sigh* I keep telling myself i am overreacting.

Talis is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday.

We decided to go ahead with it despite his age for a few reasons. Yes, he's old. Yes, he can be grumpy and yes he's sore and achy. But. He still interacts with us. Talis and I spent 2 to 3 hours at the vet this afternoon. He was in heaven, despite how poorly he feels. He loves the attention, and everyone at the vet loves him to pieces. He gets a ton of treats, a plethora of snuggles and a google of pettings - from the vet staff and any other people waiting in the waiting room. It doesn't matter -how- he feels ( Read more... )
