Today MK and i went 'out and about' just because we wanted to. We had no errands to run, we had nothing we had to pick up, we had nowhere we had to be - we just hopped in the car and drove on down to FWB and wandered. We ended up having lunch at Backyard Burger [still the best onion rings in the universe], bebopping through the store-closing-sale of Circuit City, meandering through a pet store, and browsing through an arts and craft store. Out of all of it, we only picked up a cookbook - which not only has food and dessert recipes but also some arts and crafts and home decor stuff as well. It was a 'holiday' book, hard cover -- and we got it for $11. Color me tickled pink.

Tried very hard to convince MK to let me get one of the cats in the pet store, up to the point of enlisting qsara via text message to help me bribe him. In the end he prevailed, though he did admit that i have been asking for a cat for something like three years now. We decided that if we do get one, we won't do it via pet store but rather via a rescue shelter. Oh, and it's got to be male - we learned how bitchy Mystic can be to another female with the story of Karma. [GOD I miss that cat. She was perfect, except for the peeing-on-everything-because-of-cat-wars thing.]

Yesterday i took out my nipple ring. It's a remnant of the person i used to be, and whom i have since outgrown. It's ok to let go of things like that - and I won't miss it all that much. Besides, it was mostly for shock value anyhow. *wink*

Talis is doing well. He's recovering nicely, his incision looks wonderful [well. as wonderful as a huge gaping cut along his entire abdomen can look] and his spirits are up. He's still on medication out the yingyang, but we've been weening him off of the pain meds over the past few days. He gets up and down off the couch almost on his own, and he is slowly getting back into his routine - ie; middle of the day is the time to lay in the 'cave.' He still can't move around for very long without pretty much collapsing, but i suspect that'll be the state of things from here on out.

Anubis got his first real 'out of the kennel while we were away' test today, and passed with flying colors. We closed him up in our bedroom instead of letting him roam the entire house - but that was because he can't be trusted not to harass and/or hurt Talis. But he did great! He didn't make any sort of mess what so ever, and he only chewed on his own things. I am so proud!
