“Key..I’m here..” Key tried to calm down himself from crying as he carefully checked on the arms circled around his body. He felt warmth radiating from the other’s body. He felt safe around those strong arms. He could feel the other’s breath in his ear as he continued to hush him. He tried to speak but no words came out from his lips. He loved how good it felt so he leaned closer to the warm body.
“stop crying..i’m here..i will never leave you…again…” Key slowly pulled away from the other. He saw the boy he least expected to see.
“w.h.a..t are..you..doing..here..?” he felt finger brushing the remaining tears in his eyes. He stared at the boy in front of him.
“because you need me..” the boy smiled as he continue to caress the other’s cheeks. He pulled the other for a hug when he saw new tears forming in boy’s eyes. “ssshh..i’m here..”
“take me away from here..please..Jinki…”

Minutes earlier..
Jinki ran out of his car as he approached the front desk of the hotel.
“excuse me..where’s the room of Mr. Kim Kibum..?”
“I’m sorry sir..but ther’s no Kim Kibum in our guest list..” the receptionist replied as he checked the computer for any Kim Kibum as guest.
“how about Choi Minho?”
“uhmmm yes he’s a guest..are you relative or a friend?”
“uhmm..yes..i’m his cousin..he asked me to pick up his friend he’s with last night..” Jinki lied as he tried to avoid the receptionist eyes.
“oh..ok..room 407..”
“uhmm..you see I forgot to ask my cousin his room key..can I borrow one..” Jinki pleaded to the girl.
“I’m sorry sir but it’s a big rule not to let anyone have a duplicate of the our guest key..sorry..”
“but..i’m..”
“Jinki..?” Jinki looked at his back as he heard a girly voice calling his name and he was surprised.
“Tiffany?”
“oh my gosh..it’s you..Jinki..long time no see..how are you? What are doing here?” Tiffany happily hugged Jinki showing the boy how she missed him.
“uhmm..can’t breathe..uhmm..i’m here to pick up a friend..you..what are doing here?..” Jinki was happy to see an old friend but he’s in a hurry. He took occasional glances on the stairs as he continued to talk with his friend.
“well, after struggling the college life I graduated..then became a manger branch..you are now seeing the manager branch of this hotel..” Tiffany said proudly as she showed Jinki her corporate uniform.
“really..you..Tiffany..you’re a blessing..you see I need to borrow a key card for this room 407..but the girl over there said that it is not allowed..”
“well..it is not really allowed..she’s just doing what I told her..”
“please Tiffany help me..” Jinki pleaded to her old friend.
“and why?..give me a big reason why I must violate my own rules..” Tiffany raised her brow as she asked the begging boy.
Jinki stood up straight looked at the direction of the stairs and smiled. He looked back to his friend and said. “he’s there..he needs me now..after so many years..i saw him again..and I already decided to not let him go..again…”
Tiffany looked at him like she was processing the words in her mind. She gasped as she realized what his friend meant with his words.
“you mean..you..mean..the boy..the..coffee..”
Jinki smiled and took her hand. “yes him…so please help me..Tiff..”
“I can’t believe you..after these years..you’re still in love with that boy..what’s his name again..” Tiffany put her finger near her temple like an act you do when you’re thinking. “aha..Kibum..Kim Kibum….araso..i’ll help you..i always help you with that guy..but please Jinki this time make it real ok…”
Tiffany walked towards the front desk. Jinki looked at her as she saw her talking at the receptionist. He smiled when he saw the front desk officer handed Tiffany a key card. He watched as Tiffany towards him.
“you don’t know what I should risk with this violation of the hotel rules..so make it worth it…go..and get your boy..” Jinki hugged her and ran towards the stairs after seeing a malfunction sign on the elevator door.
“Thanks Tiff..” he shouted as he stopped from his step and waved at his friend.

Jinki insisted on carrying Key down to the parking lot. Key at first told him that he can walk but still ended up to be on the other boy’s back.
“there..” jinki said as he landed the boy on the front seat of his car.
“you don’t need to..”
“it’s ok..i want to..just give me this chance..” Jinki smiled before he closed the car door. He jogged towards the driver seat. Once settled, he looked at the boy beside him. Key was looking out from his window. He stopped crying making Jinki felt better. When he made sure the other is comfortable in his seat, he started the engine and drove away from the building.
As Jinki’s car drove out of the hotel’s parking lot, that was the time a white van parked at the exact place Jinki parked just some seconds ago.
“Thank you sir..”
“it’s ok son..good luck..” Minho closed the door of the van after thanking the old man. He looked up at the building as a smile formed in his lips.
“I’m here..Key..” and he jogged inside the hotel.

Jinki quickly opened his apartment’s door and pulled the shivering boy inside.
“sorry..i don’t have a jacket with me..it’s freezing outside..” Jinki opened the room’s heater and light. He then guided Key to the couch. “you want something to drink?”
Key shook his head as he continued to stare at his hands. Jinki moved closer until he he was kneeling in front of the other. He took the boy’s hands to his and brought it to his lips.
“you’re cold…” he blew some air to the other’s hand hoping it can help to stop the other from shivering.
“I’ll get some blankets and warm drinks..wait here..” Jinki stood up and walked towards his room.
When Jinki came back withna hot drink in his left and a thick blanket on the other, he was surprised to see the other resting on his sofa. He put down the hot cup in the center table and walked beside the boy. He put the blanket on him covering Key from the coldness. He knelt just in front of the other’s face. He smiled as he brushed away the hair from the other’s face.
“sleep well, angel..i won’t leave you..” he leaned closer until he was an inch away from the other’s cheek. He stopped as if thinking if it’s ok to take advantage of Key. He pulled away and smiled. He stood up grabbed the hot cup and walked towards the kitchen.
Little did he know Key was awake the whole time. He just lay down for his boy is aching. He just closed his eyes as he felt warmth starting to crawl up to his body. He was startled when he felt a heavy clothing placed on him but he didn’t mind opening his eyes. It felt too good and he decided not to do anything that can make it away. Then he felt hot air in his cheeks. He slowly opened his eyes only to see the older’s boy lips near him. His heart beat fast and he closed his eyes waiting for the warm of the other’s lips touch his skin but it didn’t happen. He opened his eyes only to see the other walking away. Key bit his lower lip as he felt a mixed of disappointment and happiness. He closed his eyes as he couldn’t understand why did he felt like that. Why would he react like that for an almost simple kiss on the cheek? He was thinking deep in thoughts that he didn’t notice when he finally entered the dream land.

Key slowly opened his eyes. He blocked it when he was blinded by a light coming from the half closed curtain. He carefully sat up and noticed that he was no longer in the couch. He was about to move out of bed when he heard the door opened.
“good morning..i hope you sleep well..” Jinki as he was trying to balance a tray of food on his hand. “breakfast in bed?”
Jinki out down the tray on the bed beside Key. He sat down the bed and looked at Key. He reached out to fix the messy hair of the younger boy.
“you..don’t need to do that..” Key said blushing from the other’s action.
“I want to..just give me this chance..” Jinki said as he put down his hand and smiled to the other boy. “here I tried to cook you breakfast..”
Key looked at the food. Omellete, bread, fresh sliced fruits and glass of orange juice.
“Thanks..” Key said a she took the spoon in the tray. He took a slice of apple from the bowl and ate it.
“how was it?” Jinki was watching his actions making the other conscious of himself.
“ok..it’s ok..”
“whew..i made that..” Jinki said proudly.
“it is an apple Jinki..who didn’t made it..it grew from a tree, pick by the farmers and you bought it..you didn’t made it..” Key said as he took another apple in his mouth.
“but I sliced it..i sliced it properly..look each piece looked the same..” Jinki said as he pointed on the sliced fruits in the tray. Key looked at him and before he knew he was laughing. It was small laugh but still it made Jinki stared at him.
“you laughed..” Jinki said as he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
“you’re childish..” Key said as he took another slice his mouth.
“still you laugh..here taste this omellete I made this..” Key watched the boy as he sliced the omelet to tiny parts. He was telling him how he followed the recipe and was able to be successful.
“here..” Jinki said as he put a piece of the food near Key’s lips.
“I can eat by myself..”
“just take this..say aahhh” Jinki opened his mouth wide like he was teaching a kid how to eat for the first time. Key smiled as he took the food Jinki was offering him.
“how is it taste?” Jinkiw atcehd the other as he chewed on his food.
“it’s ok..edible..” Key said as he took the spoon from the other’s hand and started eating the food. Jinki watched him happily. How he wished they can stay like this forever. How he wished time would stop.

Jinki gave Key a change of clothes as he told him that he could use the shower. Key thanked him. after some minutes Key walked out of Jinki’s room, wearing one of Jinki’s t-shirt and jogging pants and very fresh from the shower as you could still see the drips of water from his hair.
Key sat down on the couch. Jinki looked at him watching the boy’s features. He was brought back to reality when he heard the other’s voice speaking to him.
“what did you say?”
“uhmm..let’s watch this..” Key handed Jinki an english movie. Jinki looked at the cover. He didn’t remember buying this. Ah Maybe Victoria left this when he had our movie night..oh a romantic comedy film. He stood up and walked towards the player. After pushing the play button, he sat beside Key.
“have you seen this movie?” key asked.
“no..it’s my friend’s not mine..” Jinki said as he looked at the boy who was staring at the monitor. When he felt the other’s is not going to continue he averted his eyes and focused himself on the movie.
It was in the middle of their 9th movie for the day when their doorbell rang. Jinki stood up to answer the door. He happily took the delivery and jogged back to the living room.
“it’s our dinner..” Jinki said as he put down a bucket of chicken and two packs of rice. “here..”
Key received the food not taking away his eyes from the movie. Jinki was enjoying his food when he heard Key remarked about the movie.
“this is stupid..” Key said as he put down his empty plate on the table.
Jinki looked at him as he watched the other wiped his tears. “you’re crying..”
“because it’s sad..”
“why?.. I think it is just right..the boy only hurts the girl as he keep on holding her..it’s better to let go..”
“but he loves her..he even sacrifice everything for her..he should hold on forever..” Key blurted out facing Jinki.
“but it will only hurt the girl more..yes they love each other but there are times that love isn’t enough..sometimes you have to let go of something in order to see if it’s really worth holding on” Jinki looked back at Key with this serious face.
“you don’t anything..you don’t..” Key quickly stood up and ran away from the living room. He entered Jinki’s room and walked towards the bed. He slowly collapsed on the floor at the bedside.
Jinki was left in the living room. He didn’t mean for this happened but little in his heart he meant those words to hit Key and it did. He stood up and silently walked towards his room. He scanned the room to see the boy hugging himself sitting on the floor. He walked closer to the boy. he knelt down and put his hand on his shoulder.
“I’m sorry..i.i didn’t mean anything..i know I don’t have the right..i don’t know anything..” Jinki said as he let himself fall beside Key. He looked up on the window and watched the nightsky.
“why..? why do you still love him? he’s hurting you I know..i don’t need to know the details..seeing you like this, is very much enough to conclude that he doesn’t deserve you..that he’s hurting you…” Jinki said as he felt tears forming on his eyes.
“when you truly love someone, you don’t look for faults, you didn’t look for reasons and answers, you don’t look for mistakes. Instead you fight for the mistakes, you accept the fault and you overlook for the excuses and reasons..” Jinki closed his eyes as he listened to Key’s words and before he noticed it a tear flow down from his eyes.
Then he felt a finger wiping his tear. He opened his eyes only to see Key’s face full of concern.
“you’re crying..why?”
Jinki took Key’s hand on his and brought it near his lips. He planted a kiss and looked straight to his eyes.
“you really love him..” Jinki didn’t expect for an answer as he continue to talk his hold on the other getting tighter. “You may not see me the way I see you..you may not care for me the way I do..you may feel nothing for me like I feel for you..but I’ll always be here…” loving you the last two words were not uttered for the other to hear. He leaned closer as he pressed his lips on the other. It happened fast and it was like their lips touched for a second but the after effect made Key felt so different. He could hear his heart beating so loud. He could feel heat crawling all over his body. He never felt this way. Never. Not like when Minho kissed him. It was different.

Jinki couldn’t believe himself. he almost told the other what he feels but ended up kissing him. He didn’t regret doing it. but as he remembered the kiss he also remembered how his chance for Key to love him back will never happen. He loves the guy too much.
Jinki softly caresses the other’s face. He watched the sleeping face of the young boy. he didn’t know what happened but after the kiss no one spoke. They just stared on the night sky from his window and before he knew it Key’s head dropped on his shoulder. He slowly carried him to bed and placed him under the blankets.
“if only I can bring back the time..i will stay..that day..i will not walk away when you told me you didn’t need me..i should stay..i should tell you..i’m so weak..afraid..i’m a fool..”
Jinki leaned on Key as he rest his head on top of the other. Tears starting to form in his eyes.
“I choose to love you in silence, for in silence I find no rejection…I choose to love you in your loneliness, for in your loneliness no one owns you…but me..I love you so much..Kim Kibum..”

Minho found an empty room in the hotel. He was now riding a bus back to Hara’s house. He hoped he would find Key there.
“why did you left..why didn’t you wait for me..” Minho looked outside the window. it is already 2:30 am in his clock. He chose to stay all day and night on the hotel room hoping for Key to come back but he didn’t.
He ran his finger on the glass window. He blew air making the glass blurred then he drew a heart sign using his finger.
“Key..”
Then he startled when he felt his phone vibrated. He looked at the caller ID and was surprised to see the caller name. he quickly flipped open his phone and hit the answer button.
“Key!”
“no it’s me..he’s with me..you can come and get him..” the other line said.
“Jinki-hyung?”

Minho knocked on the door. After knocking twice the door opened revealing the older boy.
“he’s on my room..he’s sleeping..you can stay until he woke up..he’s tired..so don’t try to wake him up..”
Minho looked at him and bowed. “thank you..”
“I’m not doing you a favor..i’m doing this for Key..”
“still I thank you..” Jinki moved aside to make way for Minho. Minho walked straight to what he supposed to be Jinki’s room.
He slowly walked towards the bed. He crawled near the sleeping figure until he snaked his arms around the other’s body. Key groaned in his sleep but Minho hushed him whispering some sweet words in his ears making the other relax on Minho’s arms. Minho looked at the direction of the door and saw jinki standing on the doorway. He smiled. Jinki returned the smile and walked away.
Jinki smiled but it was sad one. A smile that hides a heartbreak. He’s questioning himself if he’s doing the right thing. But the way Key relax as Minho pulled him closer to his body, how they looked so good together it only gave Jinki reason to let go now.
“maybe it is not really meant to happen..they say if you really love someone when you want him to be happy..even though his happiness means not being a part of it..” Jinki laughed bitterly as he collapsed on his knees cupping his face in his hands and tears flowing down his face. Even though it hurts so bad.

Key woke up as he felt heavy arms around him. He slowly turned to looked at the owner of those arms. He pulled away when he saw Minho’s sleeping face just inched away from him. He moved away and before he knew it he fell down the bed waking the other boy.
“Key..” Minho shot up when he heard the fall from his side. He looked at thenboy who was now sitting at the floor. “are you ok?”
“Mi..Minho..what..what are doing here?” Key said as he looked at Minho.
“well I’m here because someone called me that you’re here…I’m here because I was worried sick when you left the hotel…I’m here because I want to be with you..i’m here because of you..”
Key stood up and was to walk away when Minho pulled him to stop.
“please Minho..we already talked about this..and I’m not repeating myself..” But even before Key finished his talking Minho pulled him back to bed.
Minho cupped Key’s face making him look at his way. “listen Key..Hara and I..we’re over..”
Key looked at him disbelieving look. “what are talking about..? you broke up with her..”
“no..she broke up with me..no actually..she told me that she’s letting me free..”
“what are you talking about?”
“Hara knows about us..but keep it..now she told me that she will give way for us…I never imagined I married such wonderful person..i loved her..but she knew I love you more…Key I’m a free man now..we can be together again..like before..like before this all happened…” Minho hugged him tightly afraid for Key to walk away from him again. Key on other hand was left surprise. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. All these years, this is the moment he was waiting for..for Minho to tell him that he will stay with him like he promise..like before…the time when everything is just perfect..but why? Why is he feeling different? He is supposed to feel happy but little inside his heart he didn’t feel that much happiness. Maybe if this happened years earlier, maybe and for sure, he’ll be the happiest person alive but now..it is not the feeling he have..he’s not happy..
Key and Minho walked out of the room. Key didn’t speak any word since Minho told him about the ‘we’ll be together again thing’. Minho walked ahead of Key and stopped when he was just in front of the door.
“I’ll get a taxi…it’s cold outside..wait for me here…i’ll come back to get you..” and Minho kissed him on the lips.
Key was about to take a seat on the couch when Jinki came out of the spare room. His hair is messy like he just woke up. Jinki avoided Key’s gaze and continued walking towards the kitchen. Key stood and followed jinki on the kitchen.
Jinki jumped on surprised when he found Key standing behind him.
“you called him?” Key asked and Jinki saw the softness in his eyes. Maybe he did the right thing.
“yes..you can’t stay here for long..i need to go somewhere this weekend..” Jinki said as he sat down on the dining table.
“about..last night..” Key started.
“oh..that..i’m sorry for the..you know..i just don’t know how to stop you from crying..and..”
“the one you told me…”
Key looked at the Jinki who was staring at his coffee.
“oh..i think forgot what I said last night..” Jinki looked at him as he scratched the back of his neck.
“Key!” they heard Minho calling from the door.
“if it’s the case, I shouldn’t bother you more..thank you for yesterday..bye..” Key bowed as he walked away from the table.
“Key..” Key stopped when he heard Jinki called. Inside of him he was expecting something.
“just promise me one thing..If he says he loves you and your heart doesn’t skip a beat, don’t say it back, because you don’t..”
And Jinki looked at him and smiled. Key returned the smile and walked away.
“goodbye…”
