I want to get rid of my old two-seater sofa. It's broken, so I need the council to come and take it away, but they only pick up items from outside a house. Mum and Dad sent a cheque this year, so I could buy what I liked for Xmas, and I chose to spend it on furniture. The four bookcases in my living room were all white, and perfectly functional, but not very satisfying as objects in themselves. A few weeks ago, I though that maybe I should get another bed base. I got a new mattress last year, but when I was turning it this srping, I noticed how lumpy and worn the old divan base was. Well, it's been a long day, today. It started with a trip to the doctor's this morning at 9:40 to have a toenail removed. I've had infections from the nail ingrowing, so the doctor suggested removal to let a new one grow. I came back from Glasgow today (Fri) - a day earlier than scheduled. Walking was getting increasingly uncomfortable and painful, which meant I just didn't want to visit anywhere more than a few minutes walk from the tube stations - which ruled out a bunch of places.
