I came back from Glasgow today (Fri) - a day earlier than scheduled. Walking was getting increasingly uncomfortable and painful, which meant I just didn't want to visit anywhere more than a few minutes walk from the tube stations - which ruled out a bunch of places. I'm off to sunny Glasgow tomorrow. The weather forecast for the weekend isn't promising, but I bet the hotel's got better heating than my flat, so that's something. I've arranged to meet pickwick  on Wed evening for pub, food and quiz, which I'm looking forward to.

The suitcase is in the bedroom but it ain't packed yet. Still have Stuff To Do.

Having booked a week in Glasgow at the beginning ofr Feb, I realized a day later that I'd been planning to go to Redemption, which is at the end of the third week in Feb (my birthday weekend too). I can afford both, assuming I get the usual amount from my library loans payout at the beginning of Jan. It's just irriating to use most of the money on ( Read more... )

As Travelodge have a sale on at the moment, with some rooms available at £9 a night (+£4 for breakfast), I've booked myself for a week in Glasgow. I'll be going from the last day of Jan through the first week of Feb, so the city will probably be at its dampest, coldest and gloomiest, but never mind.
