In spite of creeping lurgy and BB's disturbed nights - possibly due to him having the creeping lurgy too, can't really tell - we got out in the sunshine yesterday. It was not a great start to the day, with me up at 6.20 having also been up at 12.30 and 3.30 and then finding the car battery flat as a pancake when I tried to go buy a picnic. Took DD to Fota Wildlife park today, or, as far as she is concerned, to her favourite playground whose only drawback is having to walk past all those bloody animals before you get to it. We did not get away as early as usual because Mr Wol had to supervise a power out at work but were still in the park by 11.30 and so well ahead of the afternoon ( Read more... )

In a moment of madness I volunteered yesterday to help wrangle the Montessori kids at a field trip to the local Wildlife Park at Fota today. This is a very nice place, and great for kids and animal lovers alike, and we are members so our magic card was very handy at getting more bodies through the gate for free.
