More job angst. So, I accepted that six month contract earlier in the month, but no paperwork to bind me to that has been signed as of yet. What preliminary paperwork I've gotten indicates I will be an employee-at-will with the ability to walk away at any time. I hate interviews, I really do. I feel like I'm always saying the wrong thing. Or that I'm saying WYSIWYG and they don't want it. I miss the daily interaction of coworkers, the scheduled time to get up and get going, the knowing I had stuff to do and being held accountable for it. The company called back, today. It looks like we're in the salary negotiating phase. They offered $2k less than my requested salary. I've looked up similar jobs in the Federal database and most of them start at what they're offering. It was an hour and forty-five minute drive to Kenosha for the job interview. Definitely too far to commute. If they offer me the job, it would mean moving to Kenosha. That's the hard part.
