It's a man. On a couch. And over there, another man, on a couch. They could almost be related, though the golden haired one looks human at least. The other one has a few feathers and a long, furry tail, and he's the only one who bothers with a question

"Sometimes." It might be noticed this fellow has a pair of toddlers with him on leashes.

Quick glance to the toddlers, and then he dismisses them. "How were you forced into it?"

A raised eyebrow at that. "First off, these two don't count. They're mine. As for the others? They're family. I wouldn't call it forced. I'm never forced into anything I don't want to do."

Mikhail doesn't really care, but Ciel is not going to be ignored so easily. She heads towards the strange man as far as the least will let her, babbling something insistently that would likely only make sense if one is used to interpreting Russian from someone with a speech impediment.

"Never, hm? Well, aren't you special." He's amused, but it's more friendly than anything.

The little girl is looked at again, and he lifts his feet off the floor. No touchy!

These two pause, give each other looks, and then snicker.

"Oh no," says the one in green.

"Of course not," says the other.

Horrible liars, they are.

"Good. You're too young." is all they get.

Which causes the one in purple to burst out laughing.

"Techno! Behave. He might be new here," scolds the other.

The other man, shifts around in his seat slightly, just as amused as the two twins. But quietly.

And Kuja's eyebrow raises. "Your point is...?"

"Yes. All of the time, actually." Haine's voice is quite dry.

"Did you have a choice or were you also forced into it~?"

"I could let him die, I guess. That's the only way out of it." He shrugs.

"That kind of babysitting, I see. Who is he?"

There's a clump of young Black Mages watching Kuja. He looks like their grampa! But they remember to be careful about alternates.

He notices them, but doesn't react. They're not the only people who won't come close.

And they waddle a little closer. And then a little closer still, blinking at him.

Now, that's interesting... He'll keep on not looking.
