Elisa's back in the Nexus after a bit of a long absence.  Events in her own reality, most notably the adoption of several hatchlings from another clan as well as the impending birth of her niece, along with all kinds of other stuff common to super-heroes guardians like her.

So she's sitting on a convenient Nexus couch, looking a bit thoughtful.  "

"Alured's favorite thing about his birthday was getting to play whenever he wanted," Ali offers, "which isn't a bad tradition as things go."

The boy in question, meanwhile, is looking at Elisa very confusedly. "Birdie?"

She smiles. "That's a good idea," she agrees. "Definitely have to remember that one."

She chuckled just a little at Alured's description. "Not... quite, little guy."

"Plus they won't outgrow it."

Ali smiles down at Alured, giving him a little snuggle. Meanwhile, he's trying to work out what Elisa is. What else has wings? So confusing!

"That's good. Already seems like she's growing up too fast as it is, sometimes."

Hire a babysitter, then go out and do all the things you've been putting off because of the tyke. College party? It's the start of the semester, you'll want to get the better-looking freshmen on your short list early, before they get caught in the date mill. And they won't have met all the professors yet, so who's going to argue when you say you're the professor of women's studies with a PhD in--wait for it--Sensuality? Strike while the coed is hot!

Ed blinks. "Hi Elisa. I'd just been thinking about you recently. And I've had times like that. Although right now it isn't entirely stuff piling on so much as... not quite letting me get the previous thing dealt with first."

"Oh, hey Ed. What's going on on your end?"

She considers this. "...Other than the obvious."

Ed snerks. "Beware women with apples. Who knows what'd happen to you if you ate one."

Now she winces. "Well, I'm now single, but we both sort of saw that coming. Also, one of the others finally found the portal I used to use so he's been coming around."

"Nothing good, that's for sure," Elisa agrees.

She shakes her head. "Sorry to hear that, Ed."

[slag_megs]

"Finger paint, for the little one." There's a deep chuckle that's echoed by excited little squeaks. "'N yeah. Sometimes. I tried ta always look on the bright side. Sometimes it didn't work and I hadta go slag some 'Cons, but since they were the cause 'a the stress ta start with, it was all good."

"Finger paints, huh? Good idea," Elisa replies. She nods in response to the rest. "Heh. Nothing like a little aggression therapy."

[slag_megs]

"I'm just glad I don't gotta do that therapy no more." Jazz walks around her couch and plunks himself down on the floor. On his shoulder a tiny Bumblebee waves and squeaks.

She gave a little wave to the tiny Bumblebee.

Eh... It's probably not that good of me, but I do enjoy a good fight sometimes."

"Well, my parents used to let me play whenever I wanted, on my birthday. You could try something like that."

"Not a bad idea," she says. "Probably what I'll end up doing."

"Thanks." He flashes a smile. "The early birthdays are easy, though."

[elisa_garg]

She laughs. "No kidding. Few more years and it'll be some impossibly hard to find doll or something that I have to go hunting for."
