Attended the MNGCA fall event this afternoon at Afton State Park. It was a bit chilly, but the sun was shining at least. Elections for the 2009-2010 board were held, and Jonas was re-elected Secretary. This will be his third year, and I have mixed feelings about the commitment with the expected changes in our lives in the coming year, but we'll see

I've just become the adoptive parent of a geocache. A River Runs Thru was the very first cache Jonas and I ever found, on July 15, 2004 (our 5th wedding anniversary). It was also the first cache ever hidden in Chaska. After concentrating on a few, but very widespread, caches for most of last year and losing ground, I'm excited to announce that Jonas and I have broken back into the top 20 among Minnesota geocachers. Every Wednesday evening in the metro area a mini-geocaching event is held, essentially just an excuse for a group to find a couple of caches together and then socialize at a restaurant or bar afterward. The group search dynamic is not really my style so I rarely attend, but tonight Jonas talked me into it ( Read more... )

You might think that after finding 3,192 geocaches around the country and world it might start to get boring, but you'd be wrong! Jonas and I just spent 4 days in Wisconsin (and a little bit of the Michigan UP), and found a total of 96 caches. Good times in Appleton and Green Bay.
