When I first started this LJ, my 12" G4 macbook pro was shiny and new.

After staying late at work for a change again on Friday (fortunately it didn't run horribly late like the last one), we pulled ourselves from bed in reasonable time on Saturday to take my iMac in to the Apple store to get a genius's opinion.

Drat it all. Apple is opening a store on Buchanan Street this Saturday with the usual freebies to gain attention, and I'm going to be in Moscow. I think this is the third grand opening I've managed to miss by a narrow margin. Hmph ( Read more... )

My iMac is about to be taken along to the computer-doctor. Backups are done with only a couple of new coasters to show for it. It currently has an ice-pack sitting on its foot... I think it helps ( Read more... )

Before dinner David indulged me by driving me to the Braehead PC World to pick up a copy of iWork 05 for 75p. While there I found that they did actually have at least one copy of iLife 05 (despite what the website claimed), so grabbed that for 97p. Bleh. Started feeling the first symptoms of a cold on Friday night and spent most of the weekend lounging about lethargically. Some magic pills kept most of the symptoms at bay for 4 hours at a time (although of course 4 hours only gets you half way through the night...)
