Big Brother finally sold his house and I went over and helped when the removers came to pack everything into storage in December. Do you know how frustrating it is to just sit and watch people pack stuff? Hugely. But, hey his work was paying- so.

It worked!

I still have the two computers connected for now whilst I check I have everything. Big Brother came up trumps- he suggested I get a router (£42 from the PC repair shop next to work!)  rather than use the external modem  I'd had for 5 years. Well, I'm back briefly- off to Chester after lunch. The visit to my brother's went well. I helped him to de-clutter 5 boxes of gribbage from his study. We shredded and recycled as we went. He's actually getting rid of some books! Shock horror! These boxes have been in the study since he moved in 5 years ago- and there are at least 7 more to go. But ( Read more... )

I'm off for a week and a bit now - hooray!

I'm pretty much done with my SGA Easter fic for H/C Challenges. I so fell in love with original opening sequence that I wrote 2 years ago and then abandoned, that I flailed around figuring out the rest of it, and I'm not entirely sure it works in all respects. And that's no reflection on my beta in any way.

#1 Sky box seems to have been fixed- the guy came this afternoon. Thought it'd solve the problem by swapping old box for snazzy new one. Only once he did that although his gizmo said there was a strong signal- the set up page said unlocked and no signal. He tried 2 other boxes but now he wasn't even getting a picture! Got a letter recently from my phone and broadband provider saying that they are moving to their sister company Pipex. Only when I email them to ask 'does this mean that I have to change email and webpage addresses?' do they actually say -yes, but that I'd have to contact the sister company on how to access them.
