Every time I hear this band, I'm amazed that they were born in my state. We don't make music like this, do we?

Just when I start to think that Oklahoma really isn't all that bad (not as in "Oh, I want to live there forever!" but more like a bit of wistful nostalgia and a little excitement at the thought of showing my childhood home to my girlfriend), it reminds me of just why it actually does suck hard.

I rarely post news about my state for two reasons: 1) there isn't much of interest to those who don't live here and 2) the kind of news that does receive more than local coverage is usually pretty embarrassing. And, it would seem, the crazy. This is a column in the local newspaper; the writer is the publisher's wife. I cannot begin to articulate how angry it makes me to know that this drivel is a certainty for publication each week. Forget articles that are timely and well-written. You know, I really need a special icon for these little picture tours of Oklahoma. Anyway, I noticed yesterday that the crazy religious prophet is back! He took a small break, and I was afraid he'd given up on all us heathens, but apparently not.
