I must confess that I haven't read North and South. The adaptation very much gives the impression that it's a Jane Austen rip-off - some quite similar characters and themes to P&P, in fact. Except that P&P has a wonderful note of satire to it, and N&S doesn't have that - in place of satire put pathos. So you see why I like it ;) Also, early ( Read more... )
