I'm Not A Muslim, But I Still Say Salaam.

My thought for today: fandom "discusses" issues like my family argues over everything. Constant bitching and complaining, screaming over each other, nobody listening to anything being said, hurling invective like javelins, and whoever shuts up first automatically loses the fight. The only difference is that after a fight, I can go out for beer with ( Read more... )

Your family stories make me wish I were closer to my brothers. Bless you all. <3

He is an awesome little brother, I have to admit. I miss hearing about his meat factory shenanigans. That was some quality stuff.

Oh, fandom, why don't you ever fucking change?

EFFING FANDOM. :( :( :(

I will update with more than just fandom complaints and wacky family shenanigans, but so far, it's not looking likely to happen any time soon.

Good, 'cause I like hearing from you on these things. :D :D :D

♥!

I love the smell of self-righteousness in the morning, and fandom seems to drown itself in it every day. I've long since given up on anyone having any kind of rational fandom discussion that isn't riddled with condescension and fuckery. Plus, it's summertime, so of course, wanking is part of the regular festivities. >.>

♥ Hi, Jimi.

Truer words have never been spoken, eef. I avoid discussion with anyone I don't consider a friend now-a-days out of pure FEAR. They would crush and squish me into itty bitty pieces omg. *terrified!*

I avoid all discussion, period. Fandom has proven that they're willing to get crazy and offensive at even the slightest provocation, sigh.

I could live without the porn, I just want them all to stop being such dickwads online. That Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory gets more true every day.

Porn is sadly no longer enough for me to be able to overlook yet another episode of Fen Behaving Badly. These days, total avoidance with online things is the only thing keeping me from firebombing fandom entirely.

the one good thing about sticking to tiny fandoms is that you don't tend to get the crazies. on the other hand, there's not much fic.

your family is hilarious as always.

Exactly, small fandoms and fandoms of two from now on, at the most. I cannot deal with any more of the bullshit or bad behavior from big fandoms, so fuck the lot of them.

to be honest, i don't even know how big fandoms work anymore. if i do write/read for one of them, i just post my shit and move on. all this wanking and debating and whatnot seems kind of pointless to me most of the time. i'm here for the fun of it, not to write a dissertation.

They don't work, as far as I can see. It mostly seems to be wank, pretentious meta, more wank, scolding people for having different opinions than yours, even more wank, crazy fen behaving badly, too much wank, and people whipping out their fandom degrees to start wank lecture people under the guise of educating them about their ignorance.

This is why I don't get involved in any kind of fandom anymore when I like a show or a book or a band. I'm tired of being angry and frustrated and watching people acting like jackasses. I get enough of that shit in real life, I don't need it in something that's supposed to be my fun hobby.
