Right, me plus Vista = all 9 levels of Hell plus limbo.
WTF kind of Word program doesn't have Times New Roman set as default and why did it take me 5 mins to figure out how to set my text default? Would you like to know why? Because this set-up is far from user-friendly.
Might have to talk to Uncle Donnie and see if I can get the 32-bit XP version on here. Hell, he builds computers for a living, he should know.
Because really, when writing a thesis proposal I should not have to spend 15 mins just trying to figure out how to set the correct margins for my page. This is why one needs a FILE button and not a glowy button of crappyness. And an Edit Button! I miss it, dearly.
Watched the People's Choice Awards for a "Blink and You'll Miss It" spot of the SGA cast (Joe, David, Rachel and Jewel) accepting their awards for Favorite Sci-Fi show. It was barely two seconds. Joe had a full-grown beard. Jewel's hair was long and dark, at least I think it was Jewel. It did not look like Amanda Tapping. Could be wrong.
Today was so warm! It broke warmth records in Boston, Quincy, and Braintree. It reached 70 in Quincy. In Jan. When last week it was 8 degrees. Crazy. I know it's just a tease before we're smashed with snow again.
Good things: Computer managed to succesfully burn a cd from Napster. Yay, new music! Must venture into city tomorrow for new flash drive. Really tired of doing this one flash drive bit. Quite annoyed, actually.
Also, watched Eastern Promises. That was dark and bloody.
Work was okay today, though I thought the boss was going to slap every single service manager at all eight of the dealerships. Glass Claims are hell right now, and everyone needs a windshield replaced. Also, let me tell you, Nissan Altima Hybrids, they're fun cars to try and start just to get the gas and the mileage. Must hit the "On" button on the dash, with the non-use key nearby, and put foot down on break. Man, am I glad I don't drive.
One of the new textboots for the semester arrived. They are trickling in one at a time, since I am buying them super cheap off used dealers on Amazon. Today's book was The Rape of Nan-King for my Second World War class. Still have not seen a book list for my Modern Irish History class. Public History books are not easy to find new, much less used. Oh, academic life.
In best news: Thank you New Hampshire! A) For showing such an increase in Voter Turn Out and B) For catching the attention of so many folk.
Granted, winners of the NH Primary tend not to win for the White House. Granted, I still think Clinton and Obama should combine powers. I adore Barack, but Hiliary has more experience in regards to, you know, running a country. I want Obama to win. I don't have anything against Edwards, but he was my senator in NC for years and um, a) he did like nothing and b) he was never around. I know, Clinton is similar for....wait, just watching news, and Barack just conceeded for NH. Hmm.
If I had to, I could vote for McCain. I dislike how he went back on so many of his statements when trying to get voters in the Bible Thumping Areas, but in general I have respect for the man. Granted, I have respect for most POWS, b/c damn.
Now, to stay glued to the tv for the rest of the primary coverage. Yes, I am a dork.
