New laptop still pisses me off, but we are learning to deal. I like having all the keys on my keyboard back, but this screen is huge. Anyway...
SG-1 Marathon has me up to Season Eight. However, it apparently broke my last laptop so I'm kind of scared to re-watch seasons 8-10. Maybe I'll leave those for after I get my hands on Ark of Truth.
However, all my SGA and LotR friends MUST READ
THIS. It's short and sweet, but I laughed myself silly far too many times. Come on people, Ronon is a dwarf, and Rodney a Hobbit and that should be enough to convince you to read it right there. It really made my bad mood go away.
Other things that make my bad mood go away: Dr. Seuss. My mother and I were talking about the good Doctor today and how it upset her that my younger cousins never read his books. You could imagine my amount of cursing when she told me this. Yes, while my cousins (one who is turning 12 and thinks her parents should get her one gift that is over $100 and a few other ones as well) were reading American Girls, and learning how to be a member of the WASP-Y Youth, there was no Dr. Seuss in the house. This pains me, as you can learn so much from him.
Before Al Gore got up and won an Oscar, There was a Lorax, who spoke for the trees for the trees have no tongues and left a message of Unless. And if you ask me "Unless What?" Go read the book or watch the movie now.
Then there was Horton, who heard a Who, and who knew a person was a person no matter how small. And the Sneeches who, after some silly segregation and fashion faux-pas learned everyone was equal, star-bellied or not.
And then there is advice for life. I am almost 24-years-old and I still pop open Oh, the Places You'll Go when I think life sucks and I'll never go anywhere in it.
If I ever have kids, they will have the whole Seuss library, probably with my copies of the books if my sister and the mice haven't destroyed them. It just kills me that my cousins, for all the money their parents have and the struggles they will never have to face, are missing some of the most important lessons about the world and life.
Now, back to battling the evil new laptop.
