As anyone who uses mass tranist knows: The T giveth and the T taketh away.
This night, as I stood on the platform of Quincy Center station waiting for the train to Alewife, tired after near on 10 hours of work, I had to dodge a large group of loud, already starting to drink, young folk. I moved down the platform, pulled out my cell phone, and began to play the mobile version of the Seven Wonders Game. I was just getting into the next level of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon section when the train arrived. I, fingers still working to bust all the blocks before time was up, sat down in a seat, next to a father and his son, dressed to go to the Celtics game. Then there was yelling of one loud young person to another, confusion for the T train drivers, and some moments of the train doors being forced open and closed. Two of the young folk found themselves in my car of the train, not with the rest of their group. One told the other not to worry, since they could just find their friends at the next stop. They too were decked out in Celtics gear, as there was a game on thursday night.
The next stop is Wollaston, my stop. It can either be packed or empty depending on what day it is and what's going on in Boston. Today was one of the more packed days, and as I made my way out of the train, trying to avoid the people trying to get onto the train, I had to dodge a large group of young folk running to another car and trying not to spill their drinks.
Well, the T drivers had apparently decided there was one solution to loud-ass trouble-makers who can't stay in one train car over another: they closed the doors and pulled away from the platform. This of course meant that a portion of the group of young folk were on their way to Boston while the other half was left on the platform in Wollaston until the next train to Alewife arrived (approx. 15-20 mins later). I consider it nothing but sweet justice and really, when you cause the train to be held up once, do not think the T staff are going to do it for you again.
In other news: Watched The Bourne Ultimatium last night and that was all kinds of awesome. Is a fourth one coming out? Tonight, after CSI is over (maybe before b/c this episode is boring me..or maybe it is just all the talk about bulls and sex and mating) I will watch Amazing Grace.
