I had a really awesome catch up with Allyn this evening, living vicariously through his stories of our mutual friends and places. I now have at my desk an official paper confirming the filing of my dissertation, which is a placeholder for the degree until March or so. AND the world's best ginger snaps!

I saw Allyn today. It was weird. When you see Allyn, you'll understand why I say this.

My dinner is OMG so delicious. Roasted red onions and peppers mixed with meltingly soft (over)cooked white beans, chorizo, and basil. gastrogasm with every bite.

Things are feeling more like home. I've gotten all the boxes out of the common areas (hallway excepted), and most of them out of the bedroom. Things are not necessarily put away to my satisfaction, but that can be resolved piecemeal in weeks to come ( Read more... )

I ended up going for a long walk along th. sutheep and not buying anything, which seems silly in retrospect. I found large (4-5 l)bottles of water, but I didn't want to carry them all the way back. Now that time is short, the days are whizzing by. Today I started out by going to campus to meet w/ my advisor, who will be on sabatical in India next term. I'll be checking her mail and doing various stuff in her absence.
