Now that time is short, the days are whizzing by. Today I started out by going to campus to meet w/ my advisor, who will be on sabatical in India next term. I'll be checking her mail and doing various stuff in her absence. I skimmed some library books and then returned them (I have 10 more on my desk, but I know I'm not going to get through them in the remaining time. I picked up my malaria drugs, came home and started setting stuff out. I can't pack for real, since I need some of the stuff for camping this weekend. I also got a large portion of my desk cleared of the carnage of semester's end. In some senses I feel like things are totally beyond my control, so I exert control by making lists and being anal retentive about a few things. I know it's a ruse, but I think it makes me feel better.
Allyn called about 4 . I knew he was planning on it, but it totally made my day anyway. After that I went into the City to meet a girlfriend for a drink, and then headed back over to my side of the Bay. Now I'm baking banana bread and preparing for the camping trip.
Can I just say that I love living in California? Not everyday, but definitely days like today. Sunny, 78, light breeze. damn near unbeatable.
