This morning, there was some sort of little falcon hunting right outside my office window. He flew right by it several times, and once or twice it almost looked like he was trying to land on the window edge, though I suppose he could've been going for the big spider that I'm sure lives in the outside corner (do birds of prey even eat bugs?). I have seen Avatar in 3D. It was quite worth it, even if I did have a rather impressive eye strain headache by the end of it. It did take my eyes about an hour to even adjust enough to enjoy the 3D effects, but first hour is kind of dull anyway so no big loss.

There are two pileated woodpeckers strutting their stuff under one of the maple trees in my parents' front yard. Not sure if they're male, female, or one of each, but they have literally been dancing around each other on the ground for the last 10 minutes ( Read more... )

The concert went... quite a bit better then I thought I would, actually. I mean, we sure as hell aren't going to win any awards and we still messed up on a few songs, but it looked like Kathy was pretty happy with most of them, and according to my parents and grandma, at least, they thought it was good.
