I think I am almost to normal brain functioning! When I asked a friend how hold the puppies were, and she said "4 weeks ... THEY WERE BORN WHEN YOU GOT MARRIED" I may have freaked out a bit. How on earth could that be a whole month a way already?!?!

I don't know how else to say it. I'm ready to kick 2013 out the door and bring on 2014. Most years, I am a bit apathetic about the new year. I'm happy for new beginnings, and all that jazz, but this year? Bring it.

I really want another cat, especially after seeing Peach carry around dead mice and play keep away. I don't think the neighborhood cats are doing the job - I suppose it is too big of a field for the cats.

Jim Beam and I have found our groove. I look at our videos and I love his joy and enthusiasm. It feels slow coming off the course, but it seems as if that is more a reflection off of it being, for the most part, smooth and becoming a well-oiled machine. On Friday, I went down to Rogue Valley Kennel Club's rally trial for Beam's 1st attempt at a leg in Excellent in Rally. My big goal with Beam in Rally is to work through his enthusiasm in a trial setting. This was our BEST showing yet! I am so so SO very proud of him. I love Rally.
I dislike showing in Rally.
I loved our Rally judge today.
I loved one steward of Rally as she was really nice when I could not get Yankee who was first and get back in time (missing half my walk through to do so) in 5 minutes and just fit me in without any snarkiness and a smile.

What great dogs to have a successful day 2! Only one more for their RE and RA titles. On the videos, I added the breakdown of scores throughout - so much easier to visualize where we lost points.

After the next leg, I'll stop showing Yankee as she just works for me vs actually loving the work. Her love is agility, and I'm happy to fuel that fire. ( Read more... )
