A recap of Rebecca's exciting-to-her weekend.

~ The temple hosted another potluck dinner and a movie on Saturday night, and I attended again and brought Green Glop again. (It was pretty well-liked.) The movie this time was Hava Nagila, a documentary about the Jewish folksong of the same name. I was really excited to see it, because it was the closing film of the Jewish Film Festival that I attended back here, and everyone there was talking about it, but I couldn't attend on closing night to see it. Anyway, it both hilarious and educational and definitely lived up to the hype. I knew that "Hava Nagila" was a Jewish song, but I had no idea how Jewish it was, or what a history it had behind it. Harry Bellafonte's cover is the best.

~ I lugged my huge crochet bag along to the temple and crocheted through the movie. The three plarn purses that I dropped off at the animal shelter seem to have already sold, which is so awesome to me! My next plan is to try charging more for them. And speaking of the animal shelter, I had the BEST time there this weekend, showing Bob and Wayne to a potential parent. It was a mom with two kids, and they seemed very keen on Wayne, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. For whatever reason, potential parents never seem to be at the shelter when I am, so I rarely ever show them dogs.

~ Lately I've been having dreams that I'm driving along in Muse Watson and suddenly run out of gas. I wonder if that means anything. Meanwhile, in real life, I've started constantly checking my gas gauge.

~ I recently searched online for a practical purpose for leftover bits of yarn, and apparently giving them to birds as nesting material is popular. The idea is to put them in a wire feeder and hang it from a tree. I tried it this weekend, and it didn't quite work out perfectly, since I don't have a lot of yarn scraps. (I haven't crocheted with yarn in a while.) I'm not sure if birds will actually use it, but if nothing else, it made for a great photo opportunity.
