Very sad... I'm not sure if it's sadder that there are no islands or that people didn't (and don't realise) because we all need our islands so badly, to be alone, to hide, to recover somehow after facing a world that does not give a fuck.

“Waverley” by Sir Walter Scott . [historical novel]

I expected to be quite bored by this but it turns out, Scott was the most popular author of his age for a reason, even when you are not particularly interested in the topics he’s treating, it’s easy to keep reading his correct and elegant prose.
