The Muppets is not for me. It started out reasonably well, but as soon as it came back from the first commercial break it started giving me hives.

A couple of nice lines in the first five minutes, though.

Just learned that that new show The Muppets is starting tomorrow night. And it's on ABC, so I could actually watch it even in my cable-less state. But I am extremely dubious.

I just rewatched the classic Dr. Who episode "City of Death." It's long been one of my favorites, although I haven't seen it for quite a while. It holds up well, but I had forgotten how much padding there was, mostly of the "Look, we really filmed this in Paris!" variety ( Read more... )

Sounds as if I cancelled my cable service just in time. Newsday is reporting that Cablevision [ack *ptui*] has discontinued analog access to SciFi and several other channels. Now Cablevision [ack *ptui*] customers who want those channels have to pay an extra $11+ for digital service and cable box. In other words, to get SciFi, I'd have to go back ( Read more... )

Last week, I cancelled my cable TV service. Took forever to get through on the phone; they don't seem to staff their disconnect department fully. (Gee, I wonder why?) I said yesterday that Beauty and the Beast was the first TV show I was fannish about. That wasn't quite true; Doctor Who was there first.
