I did read Simon/Jayne when I was more active in this fandom, but it wasn't ever my favorite pairing--I like my FF slash with Mal in general. I think that was because there is a tendency to make Jayne a caricature and Simon to submissive. This is a little slice-of-life story focusing on Wash, and it made me nostalgic and a bit sad to realize how much I miss this pairing. This one is about Zoe and the two men most important to her. I do love me some Zoe/Wash, but her relationship with Mal is fascinating, too. I called this het because there is brief Zoe/Wash, but the story is about Zoe, that lovely, fierce warrior woman I so admire.
