Firefox keeps logging me out of everything for some reason and I've spent today having to continually log back into Facebook, LJ and Tumblr. Anyway, photos of a walk up the old railway track while I was up north looking after mum and her replaced hip.

I was up in Newcastle a week ago looking after my mum after she'd had a hip replaced. Apart from walking down to the village (and one trip into town) I was mostly stuck indoors. I did get a walk round the back to via Eland Hall and was surprised to find a lot of it was hardcore path because it had become a National Cycle Route. The farmer nearer ( Read more... )

vilakins translated some Latin for me recently. When I was up in Northumberland I went to Hexham Abbey, and I realised that this Roman grave memorial is for a Vexillarius (all be it one on a horse) just like she is when she re-enacts.

Unlike puddleshark I don't get much access to interesting not-flat countryside. Over Easter I went back to Northumberland for a couple of days and got out to see some hills.

This week I had a most odd experience. This was not being in bed for five days with the 'flu which I came back from Easter in the North with, but seeing Spring. It had only just started up there (they had quite literally only just got daffodils) and yet things are going totally blooming mad down here in the South.
