I'm so glad I finished reading that huge book (The Secret Agent) for class yesterday. I got to answer most of the questions on it and everyone else got an earful when they admitted to not having finished it all yet. Many of them probably have more work than me to do, but still. I felt somewhat less useless today. I read my book for class tomorrow. The Sign Of Four, a short Sherlock Holmes story, first one I've ever read. The conventions it had in common with modern day stuff like Jonathan Creek makes me laugh. I like when they assign us books that (a) I enjoy and (b) I can read in only a few hours.

I am working on the portfolio thing. I took the names out of one of my one-shots so that might work if I pad it out... and there's this short story assignment from GCSE that I might edit a bit and use. Was able to go back to school today. Had to meet with my theatre teacher about signing some forms and looking into getting my failed module remarked. We talked about it for a while and I think paying £50 (!!) to get another chance is worth it, since the person who judged all our performances gave EVERY actress a lesser grade than the teachers ( Read more... )

I'm always amazed at how impressionable I am. I've realised that, when I played RPGs and watch the same character running on the screen for hours at a time, I pick up the running gait of the character. Amongst other things. I rushed through page 8 to try and get it done before we left. No dice. While we were away I had time to touch it up properly. And miracle of miracles - I was allowed to upload it while we were there, so that there wouldn't be a giant gap inbetween my submissions. It took me 12 minutes to get it submitted. They have 33K dial-up.
