Can't complain (what good would it do?)

Yesterday wasn't ideal, but it was certainly better than the other days. It was actually warm, and the sun actually made an appearance a few times, and patrons actually showed up. We actually went several hours without rain for the first time in three weeks. There were lots and lots of Maryland rennies. Good times. Tips were up for me, though that was partly because of a really large tip that a friend put in my basket. (Thank you friend, you shouldn't have!) Sales still didn't match Opening Day, which oddly was not a good weather day.

Of course there had to be another weather-related challenge -- it was a windy day with strong gusts that wreaked havoc with my humble CD display. I had to keep picking up stuff and tying things down. Flat-backed wooden music stands make really good sails, apparently.

It could have been an even better day for tips and sales if the blasted rain hadn't come on in the early afternoon. There were two brief but very strong driving rainstorms with lots of wind. Afterwards things settled down and it became a remarkably lovely late afternoon, but unfortunately by then most of the patrons were gone for good. I would complain, but if complaining did any damn good we would have had perfect weather every day of this cursed event.

cheezerweave insisted on carrying my dulcimer to the fair site in the morning, and giantsloth insisted on carrying my dulcimer back to the campground in the evening. Thank you gentlemen! ladyfoxchase bought me a cool drink because she said I "looked thirsty." Thanks, lady! thatliardiego made some incredible smoked meat that he was all-too-happy to share with us, hand-feeding some of us females. I'd say thank you, but I don't think I have to... he was having an awful lot of fun regardless.

I spent another lovely evening laughing and eating around the campfire with the usual suspects, including silverstah and Himself. Yay! Peeps were sacrificed to the fire and there was much rejoicing.

Today is another day. Once again, I see sunshine. There are a few clouds, but the weather-guessers say NO RAIN for once in three consecutive weekends. It's going to be cooler than yesterday, but much warmer than the worst days.
