So my car won't start. It's dead.
Stuff has been going wrong with it pretty regularly for a while. The heater takes forever and a day to kick in, so that my drive to work is in the cold the entire way. The automatic locks (the ones that you press the button to lock and unlock) sometimes work and sometimes don't. The clock doesn't work. But these are all minor things and don't really bother me.
Of course, the car not starting is kinda a big thing. The engine is making an awful screeching noise.
My car is 13 years old, and my father used to drive the crap out of it, to San Fransisco and back on a regular basis, and I used to drive the crap out of it, to San Francisco and back on a regular basis. I don't drive it so much now (one tank of gas a month or so). I keep hoping that it'll last until I have enough money to get a really nice new car without wiping out my savings. A Prius or something. I know that I could get financing, but I have a pathological fear of debt instilled in me by my very wise father, so I'd want to make a ginormous down payment so that I wasn't paying for the car for the next 20 years.
I hope they can fix it.
Oh, and this means I have to ride the bus to work for a couple days. I don't even know if a bus comes out here.
