My father pays for the maintenance of my car, because it's technically his car on loan to me. (Probably this will mean that whenever I buy a car, I won't be able to use it as a trade-in, but maybe not.) So the breaking down isn't such a huge deal -- yet. As such, I'm going to keep saving money, and I'm going to wait and see if the Prius keeps coming down in price, or if something even better comes along. I'd REALLY like to get an electric, because I never drive very long distances -- mostly to work and back -- but I'd have nowhere at home to plug it in, since I live in an apartment complex.
