Mom
My mom did something yesterday I haven't seen her do since my dad died - she left her house, and stayed overnight in a motel. She wanted to take her brother and sister-in-law to see something different this year, so they went to Cape Cod, found a motel, got one room for all three of them, went to Provincetown yesterday and are getting a ferry to Nantucket today. Sadly, it's raining, but still, I'm sure it's going to be awesome. I've never been there. =)
I was worried that she'd be miserable - she doesn't stay anywhere but at her home, or when she goes to Holland, she stays at her brother's house. NOWHERE else in 20+ years. Hell, even when dad was alive, I can't remember the last time she stayed anywhere. Or went anywhere that was far enough away that she couldn't be home before dark. But I got a message on Facebook from my Aunt around 9pm last night saying they were sitting on the beds having a beer, and they had a wonderful day. =)
Maybe this will help her want to do things like come to Florida with me one day. <3
I got a call yesterday from the Executive Director of an organization that holds regular conferences related to online marketing and ecommerce - inviting me to join their next conference as a speaker in February. So cool.
