I've recently aquired a gorgeous older (I'm thinking 50's-60's) chest of drawers for $25! I plan on cleaning it up and refinishing it. The problem is that I'm spending my next year in college in the dorms. Also, this piece is SOLID wood and very heavy. Hello everyone,

On April 1st I will be moving into a ground-level bachelor suite. I'm trying to establish some ideas on how to decorate the suite and maximize my storage space to make the place appear larger and more welcoming (on a tight budget). Any suggestions you could extend would be very much appreciated!

I just discovered a half-used package of bacon in the fridge. It was opened, once, about 2 weeks ago, when I used six slices for a recipe. Then it was sealed back in its package and then stored in a ziplock. The expiration date is 12/30/06. Think I should chance it? Would you?

What would be the best way of storing veg which doesn't need to be refridgerated to get the longest life from them?
I was thinking of getting a cotton net bag, or perhaps making some form of sack, but I wondered if there are better ways to make them last. (although I'm sure anything's better than the plastic supermarket bags)

Does bread pudding need to be refrigerated? I made bread pudding and then went out of town. I got back last night to find that it was STILL on the countertop.
